Can you help us?

Please donate to Orkney Music and Culture (OMaC) to help us continue to ensure that the musical and cultural traditions of Orkney thrive and survive. The charity provides free access to traditional music to people of all ages and abilities via a range of activities.

Popular activities that we have developed include the ‘Come and Try’ events, encouraging all to try out an instrument, helped by our volunteer music tutors. In order to maximise accessibility and reduce geographical barriers to access these events are held in a wide range of community settings and groups across the Orkney mainland as well as on the outer isles. We also run an Instrument Bank with a wide range of good quality instruments available to borrow on loan, free of charge. A further activity is that of the Slow Sessions, led by a tutor with a specially compiled book of traditional tunes (loan copies provided free of charge at the Slow Sessions and also available for sale), normally held in Kirkwall, more recently these have been online. We hope to return to meeting in person for the Slow Sessions and to continue to livestream them to widen our reach.

Your support is very much appreciated, it will help to ensure we can continue this work and that we continue to break down barriers to access. THANKYOU!!
